Grants

Samantha Larson

In 2007 we bestowed our first grant on Samantha Larson and helped her reach her record-breaking goal to climb all seven Summits by age 18. In 2009 two grants went to girls to attend Space Camp. We hope that you will join us and share in the activities and goals of our group, whose purpose is to expand our knowledge of the cultural, geographical and historical aspects of our world through adventurous exploration, and to share that knowledge with others.

About the Society of Women Adventurers

The Society of Women Adventurers was formed to celebrate women's adventures and explorations and share those experiences with others seeking to expand their enlightenment of the world in which we live. SWA is a non-profit organization formed in 2004 by a group of women from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of ages. The Society of Women Adventurers is comprised of women whose accomplishments demonstrate a keen sense of adventure and whose lives have taken unusual turns and women who have ignored boundaries and extended their experience beyond the ordinary. They have blazed trails, explored the unfamiliar, accumulated knowledge and lived life with an intensity and curiosity that sets them a bit apart. Membership has grown steadily due to ongoing programs of engaging speakers, stimulating topics and fascinating field trips. We are proud to count many of these distinguished women among our ranks.
