About the Society of Women Adventurers

The Society of Women Adventurers was formed to celebrate women's adventures and explorations and share those experiences with others seeking to expand their enlightenment of the world in which we live. SWA is a non-profit organization formed in 2004 by a group of women from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of ages. The Society of Women Adventurers is comprised of women whose accomplishments demonstrate a keen sense of adventure and whose lives have taken unusual turns and women who have ignored boundaries and extended their experience beyond the ordinary. They have blazed trails, explored the unfamiliar, accumulated knowledge and lived life with an intensity and curiosity that sets them a bit apart. Membership has grown steadily due to ongoing programs of engaging speakers, stimulating topics and fascinating field trips. We are proud to count many of these distinguished women among our ranks.

Seven miles of trails wind gently through the wildflower fields. The broad views of this landscape provide eyefuls of brilliant wildflower colors. Whether you most enjoy expansive fields of wildflower colors and fragrance or the close-up study of a single flower, this is a wonderful place to visit.
